A housing unit is any unit within a residential building that is designed or adapted for separate use and which has at least the following living facilities: a living area combined with a toilet, a shower or bath, and a kitchen or kitchenette.
In the case of new-builds and major renovations, you are required to install a separate meter for each housing unit. This allows water consumption for each housing unit to be recorded and billed separately.
