Inspection of private water drainage

Compulsory inspection

Inspection of private water drainage has been compulsory since 1 July 2011 in order to:

  • to protect our watercourses from pollution

  • to retain as much rainwater as possible on site

In practice, this means that we check that the waste water connection is correct, that the requirements regarding rainwater are met, and that waste water and rainwater are separated correctly.

Person responsible for inspection

Aquaflanders or Vlario are responsible for the inspection. Are you dissatisfied with an inspection carried out by a (Aquaflanders or Vlario accredited) inspector? In that case, we would encourage you, as a first step, to discuss this with us. If we cannot resolve the matter, you can lodge a complaint via the Aquaflanders or Vlario website.
